Comedic superstar and internet entrepreneur Kountry Wayne’s unflinchingly honest, often outrageous, but perpetually hopeful and hard-won lessons on the power of always betting on yourself.
Kountry Wayne (a.k.a. Wayne Colley) has been generating an extraordinary amount of buzz among his peers within the entertainment industry as one of comedy’s most notable rising stars. Since his first Facebook post went viral in 2014, Wayne’s career continues to climb, while garnering a loyal fan base. His widely popular digital sketches draw in millions of viewers daily across Facebook, TikTok, Instagram and YouTube channel, featuring original characters written by Wayne and cameos from notable celebrities including Ludacris, Mike Epps, Charlamagne tha God and Lamar Odom, to name a few.
Keeping it real, mining comic gold from the everyday and applying his genius for freestyling, Wayne is a master comic storyteller. In 2017 Wayne embarked on the 150-date national “Child Support Tour,” selling out clubs and theaters across America. That wasn’t just a clever moniker – he’s the dad of ten kids and even as he builds his own entertainment legacy, he’s all about securing the future for them.
“My hashtag, my mantra, is ‘Help is On The Way!’ – that’s my slogan, I own it, because I believe God’s got my back and your back and whatever is stressing you out today, it won’t last because help is truly on the way,” says Wayne, whose endearingly funny way with English comes from growing up “Kountry” in Millen, GA (pop. 3500), between Statesboro and Augusta. He was given what became his stage name during a stint living and going to school in Savannah in the mid-2000s.
Wayne’s career highlights over the past few years include being named one of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch” in 2021, starring in the BET original Christmas rom-com “Holiday Heartbreak” (2021), featured on MTV’s “Wild ‘N Out” with Nick Cannon, and releasing his debut EP, “Drip & Zay,” with GRAMMY® Award-winning producer, Zaytoven. Wayne, along with Kym Whitley, currently co-hosts “I Love Us,” a comedy clip show on BET+ that premiered this past summer. Wayne recently starred in the comedy feature film, “Strange Love,” available on Amazon Prime, and the Peacock original film “Praise This,” produced by Will Packer, directed by Tina Gordon and starring Chloe Bailey, Quavo, Mack Wilds, Druski and more. Additionally, Wayne just filmed his first one-hour comedy special in Washington D.C for Netflix.
Wayne has established himself as one of the hottest touring comedians in the country, having built a strong fan base while performing in theaters, comedy clubs and arenas across the nation. Wayne’s current tour “Help Is On The Way” is produced by Live Nation, and marks his return to the stage following his “Straight Out The Mud” spring 2022 tour, where the charismatic comic performed to sold-out crowds in theaters across the U.S., including the historic Palace Theatre in Los Angeles as part of the Netflix is a Joke Festival.
In addition to the “Help Is On The Way” tour, Wayne recently released his first book of the same name on April 18, 2023 through Harmony Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House. In the book, Wayne shares his seemingly impossible story with hopes to inspire others to see that no matter where you started from or how stuck you feel right now, the possibilities for living a rich, full life are limitless. The foreword is written by NAACP Image Award-winning actor and comedian, Cedric the Entertainer.
With his humble roots and unbridled energy, Wayne continues to build his audience with cutting edge yet clean, curse free material whose appeal transcends all cultural lines. All while still posting content online daily.
